Mike began his working career as an Aircraft Engineer with Air New Zealand leading to a broad understanding of mechanical, electronic and electrical systems and used these skills to travel extensively performing contract maintenance worldwide. 

After his return to New Zealand Mike moved into contract production machinery maintenance and production process consulting. 

Mike moved then into a production operations management position with Rex Bionics and then onto a CEO role with Boxfish Research. During this time Mike also completed an Executive MBA with Massey University and this has been the empowerment required to dive into Team Orange.

Mike is experienced in people and project management, recruitment, supplier management, lean manufacturing and supply chain management.

"I believe my calling is in helping NZ manufacturing become more productive. As a country NZ is world beating when it comes to innovation but when it comes to commercialising our great inventions we often fall short. It does not have to be this way. With continuous improvement initiatives and a focus on agility we can take on the world."

Mike is a qualified Aircraft Engineer with an Executive Masters of Business Administration and enjoys the great outdoors whenever possible.
